Q & A from Kip:
Question: Ok...I can't resist asking...just how many takes did it take before Scott Lawrence (and anybody else on the set) stopped laughing themselves silly over the line "I'm Alec Baldwin"? ... and was it just *coincidence* that "Enemy Below" had so many references to Hunt for Red October (and had a nuclear-missile storyline) just as the hype for "Sum of All Fears" is reaching its peak in preparation for its opening this coming weekend?
Kip: Everyone had a great time doing those lines...especially John Jackson, which you can see from the expression of disbelief on his face. Why make the reference? When you're obviously going to do something that has been done in a famous film, use it! Point it out. Then, the audience will usually laugh
and go along with you. As to Sum of All Fears, that never entered into our thinking. You have to
remember that when this episode was written, there was no hype yet for SOAF.
Question: What images were actually CGI? Maybe the last shot where we saw PL with only one leg in the upper left corner and the limb in the lower right corner?
Kip: No, that was old fashioined dig a hole and stick your leg in it. The CGI generated images were for the most part limited to Harm's F-14 pulling in front of the missile.
Question: Is the image of The Wall in DC with Harmon Rabb, Senior listed is that CGI too?
Kip: No. That is a portion of the wall built on set along with green screen.
Question: I believe Bud's accident will bring the JAG gang closer together and this may actually bring Harm and Mac closer together for all those shipper fans out there.
Kip: First letter of (?) seen that realized that Bud's stepping on that land mine is going to have ramifications for his closest friends in JAG--Harm and Mac. Which is another reason DPB did it.
Question: When you say "ramifications" for Harm and Mac, are you speaking of the the emotional impact or is one of them going to be dispatched as the Staff JAG aboard the Seahawk?
Kip: Harm and Mac will not be going to the Seahawk as a Staff JAG.
Question: I'm also a little hazy about the timing. When Bud's injury occurred were Harm, Mac and Sturgis still "in theater" or had they gone back to D.C.?
Kip: They are on the Seahawk at the time of Bud's injury.
Question: Any hints as to the overall direction that the Harm Mac relationship will go this season...will they become closer?
Kip: There will be a change in direction. More than that, I am not going to say. Sorry.
Question: Is there going to be an episode relating to the whole incident with the Canadian soldiers being hit by 'friendly' fire in Afghanistan.
Kip: Don't know. We are just starting to work on the stories.
Question: Do you think there will be more Submarine stuff this season...or is it just too expensive to produce?
Kip: Could be, again we are just starting stories and you're right...they are expensive.
Question: Will Webb be a major player next season?
Kip: Webb is always a player. Major? I don't know. Like I said, we're just starting on the stories.
Question: Now, you say "There will be a change in direction." Did the cliffhanger change DPB's mind?
Or are you just being cryptic?
Kip: I don't want to give to much away. It's in a state of flux as DPB lays out the new season.
Question: Will Harm and Mac be a couple or not. Will there be other people in their lives?
Kip: No plans at present for other people in their lives.
Question: Didn't the 4 major stars sign a three year contract at the beginning of last year?
Kip: I believe contracts only go through year eight.

Q & A from Kip ( Enemy Below):
Question: I'm from the group that thinks it was NOT a dream. It would be the easy way out and really wouldn't impact next season too much. Maybe Kip can give us the final word on it.
Kip: Definitely not a dream.
Question: How much of the footage actually came from Hunt for Red October? And was the reason Sturgis Turner was a submariner turned JAG so they could do more stories like this or this one in particular?
Kip: Some of the footage was HRO. Much of it was CGI created. Turner was not brought on as a submariner to do more stories like this. Sub stories are so damn expensive to shoot that one a season is all we can afford.
Question: How many medals are being contemplated for Harm, Sturgis, and Bud?
Kip: Probably some decorations are in order.
Question: Kip, at what point in time will the next episode pick up? Will it be four months later? Or at about where this ended?
Kip: Nothing has been written, but DPB is thinking of picking up exactly where this episode ended.
Question: Kip, may we please have F/X 101 on how Bud is made to look like an amputee?
Kip: No green screen last night. Just a hole with his real leg in it.
Question: Is Charles Holland going to be on the writing staff for next season? I think he's great! I'm assuming Dana Coen is staying around too? (please!)
Kip: Charles will be a co-exec next season and Dana is staying on the show, too.
Question: Kip, do you know if there was any thought given to having one of the other characters step on the mine, or was Bud targeted all along?
Kip: None that I know of. It was DPB's idea to end the season with Bud losing a leg to a mine. It's one of the reasons mines were an integral part of the last three episodes this season.
Question: Kip, did DJE and/or CB know about the ending or only PL? Who knew ahead of time?
Kip: DPB told Patrick, then Karri and then David and Catherine. All within 24 hours and asked them to keep it to themselves. By the way PL loved the idea.

In the season finale, Harm and Mac uncover the terrorist plot against the U.S. masterminded by the Al Qaeda's number three man, Kabir, and find themselves in imminent danger as time runs out to thwart the attack (May 21). Question: Have any hints, clues or foreshadowing of the shocking events in the cliffhanger been in any of the episodes this season and will there be any in the three episodes prior to the finale?
Kip: Sorry, but with all the time between now and the air date, you guys will chip away until you learn it. So, I'm going to lay low on the subject for a while.
Question: Will Harm's mother Trish be in any of the remaining episodes this season?
Kip: She will not be in any of the 4 remaining episodes.
Question: We have not seen Mikey since he left for USNA. Will he return this season?
Kip: No.
Question: Is it likely that Mikey will return next season? Was this a vehicle for Michael B. to move on in his career?
Kip: He'll be back next season and I'm sure he hopes it's been helpful to his career.
Question: Is there any info on the episode "In Country" that you can give us? We know Trisha Yearwood will be in it, any little minor spoilers you could give us?
Kip: Please bear with me until I get back 'in country' which will be in a week of so. Which brings me to 'In Country' which has Mac and Harm on the trail of a terroist in Afghanistan along with Gunny and Webb. And Bud on the Seahawk with P.O. Coates. (don't read anything sexual into that). There are some interesting things with Harm and Mac, especially a night stranded in the boonies.
I hope that's enough to wet your appetites.
Question: Is "In Country" the episode you were referring to when you said there would be some UST in one episode, but nothing heavy?
Kip: Yep.
Question: May I ask what being in the boonies mean?
Kip: It's a shortened version of 'boondocks', a term used in the Marines to describe the bush or jungle or any out of the way location. I don't know the origin of the term, but combat boots can also be refered to as boondockers.
Question: Will the shippers like this night in the boonies?
Kip: I don't know. They'll probably like it a lot better than a night in the boonies with Singer.
FROM KIP (in reference to Enemy Below):
Question: Are they going to film the conclusion to "Enemy Below" after it like they did with Adrift or are they going to wait until summer to film?
Kip: We will film more of the shocking cliffhanger next season. The four show terrorist story will be concluded and shown in 'Enemy Below' this season.
Question: So, Kip, are you saying that the shocking cliffhanger doesn't have to do with the JAG team trying to find out when/where the terrorist act is planned? It's something different?
Kip: That's right. And so far, none of the speculation is even luke warm.

JAG judge Capt. Sebring ("L.A. Law's" Corbin Bernsen) proves to be a difficult client as he insists that Harm not reveal personal family secrets, which seem to prove that he is prone to fits of rage. But when the other driver takes the stand, Harm finds that certain facts just don't add up. Meanwhile, CIA agent Clayton Webb continues the search for Kabir, the elusive Al Qaeda terrorist who was last seen making a suspicious deal with a senior Russian Navy submarine captain.

"Port Chicago" -- A survivor of the disastrous 1944 Port Chicago explosion asks the Secretary of the Navy to clear all mutiny charges from his service record and those of his shipmates, on JAG, Tuesday, April 9 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

In 1944, in the midst of World War II, a disastrous explosion rocked the U.S. Navy's Port Chicago near San Francisco, killing more than 350 sailors, most of them African-Americans.
Following the blast, a group of 50 sailors refused to return to work until changes were made to assure their safety. They were charged with mutiny and court martialed, but later their convictions were reversed.
Now, surviving sailor William McBride wants his record and those of all the other "mutineers" cleared. Asked to handle the investigation discreetly, Cmdr. Turner discovers that an injustice was done and goes head-to-head with Lt. Singer in the courtroom.
Meanwhile, Harm goes house shopping with Lt. Sims.

A public outcry results when ZNN reporter Stuart Dunston reports that the SEALs were at fault for civilian casualties in Afghanistan when their mission went awry.
But when Harm and Mac investigate, Harm finds, in fact, that Dunston may have been the one who jeopardized the mission and finds an obscure law that allows him to court-martial Dunston for disobeying the orders of the SEAL commander.
Meanwhile, Lt. Roberts receives his orders and, leaving Harriet and A.J. behind, ships out for a six-month deployment aboard the USS Seahawk.

While Harm is aboard the ship, the captain asks him to fly the bombing mission into Afghanistan. However, Harm's excitement changes to concern when his plane sustains critical damage from enemy fire.

It deals with Rules of Engagement and is based in part on a true incident early in the aerial campaign. Harm and Mac work together in this one while Bobby Latham taps Sturgis to work as her aide for a military appropriations session. Bud and Singer are locked in a head to head court battle while the Admiral suggests that for the sake of his career path, Bud should consider sea duty or a foreign posting. Harriet agrees for a myraid of reason, most of which Bud doesn't agree with."

Spoiler for Ambush: Harm defends a Marine officer accused of disobeying orders by pursuing rebels after they attacked a U.N. convoy, thus causing the death of six Marines in an ambush, on JAG, Tuesday, Nov. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Officially, Captain Shepard (guest star Ian Ziering, "Beverly Hills, 90210" ) was ordered to just guard the U.N. convoy. But the captain insists to Harm that he was, in fact, following other orders to attack that were implied by his commanding officer.
As the investigation progresses, Harm finds the chain of evidence goes high up the political ladder to Congresswoman Bobbi Latham who may, herself, have played a part in the implied orders. (Thanks to Jen from Maeve's MB for posting this info)

Spoiler for Jagathon: The personal tension between Harm and Mac reaches the boiling point when they vie for first place in a 10k marathon Personal rivalries surface in the Jag office when Mac assures Harm that she'll beat him to the finish line in the Jag-a-thon for charity. Harm then sticks his foot in his mouth by giving Mac a three minute lead in the race. Meanwhile, testosterone levels rise when Gunny and Tiner bet head to head who is good condition for the race. And true to form, Lt.Singer starts a bet on who will finish the race last, leaving Lt.Roberts feeling crushed that his co-workers favor him.

Since DPB doesn't give away much, the media writers take what little they know and spin out their own ideas of what is going to happen. The preview also says that Harm finds out after he is rescued that Mac is away on assignment on an aircraft carrier. Then the blurb says "But these are no two ships that pass in the night." Adrift II: Kip has confirmed (even though it is a logical conclusion) that Harm is still floating in the ocean when Season 7 opens. Kip also had this to share: "While I will not tell you the outcome of Adrift II or the Mac/Mic and Harm/Renee relationships, I will tell that Mac will spending episodes 2,3,and 4 in the Indian Ocean with a Marine detachment. These will be legal and action-oriented episodes which feature Mac a bit more than Harm who is back at JAG except for a visit in one episode. The new CMDR will join JAG where he is quite successful in cases against Harm, who goes on a losing streak." (from the Jaglist)
New Gun in Town: "Scott Lawrence, who DPB liked very much when he directed him in First Monday, will be joining JAG as Commander Turner a former Submariner who is now a Jag Officer. Cmdr. Turner and Harm were classmates and friends at the Academy and will become worthy opponents in upcoming episodes." (from the Jaglist)
