Q & A about In Country

Question: Did Shane Conrad playing the leader of the Marine unit who found Harm and Mac?

Kip: Yes. Shane is Robert Conrad's son.

Question:  Was it Dana Coen that came up with the code name for Webb?

Kip: It was.

Question: A member commented the Jeep/mine field scene was too comic and would someone really act that way if in that situation.

Kip:  The jeep scene was written after the episode was filmed by DPB to add time because the episode was three minutes short. I guess he wanted to have some fun between Harm and Mac without losing too much of the tension.

JANUARY 18 Posted by Harriet on the JAGniks list:

"Hi, everyone.

I know you will want to join me in congratulating Donald P. Bellisario, who was named "Producer of the Year" by the Caucus for Television Producers, Writers & Directors, an industry organization of his peers.

In the Paramount ad in today's Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety, the congratulatory copy reads in part:

'The unique vision and innovation you bring to "JAG" and "First Monday" blaze a trail for others to follow.'

Bravo, Don. "

Congratulations Don--from The BLA!

JANUARY 10 Wondering where Bud, Harriet, AJ and Tiner have been lately? This response (posted by Kip on the JAGniks list) could satisfy your curiousity:

"Another point, that fans never have to consider, is that deep into year seven there are many times that we write scenes to give a break to the leads. No matter how financially rewarded, stars of shows get weary working 12 to 14 hours five days a week. We spread the work and give the others some time off."

DECEMBER 24, 2001 Note from Harriet:

We had our usual wonderful Christmas lunch at Valencia last Friday; however, since we had an early wrap this year, and since my friend misunderstood the time it started, I missed seeing a lot of people. Patrick played Santa Claus for the kiddies (mom Tina was off somewhere feeding their baby), Steven Culp was cradling one of his new-born twins (told him you all missed him and sent regards, which he was happy to hear), Dana Coen was there with his twin girls (can't believe how they've grown). The nice thing about twins is that each parent gets to hold one (I think Laura Bush pointed this out in an interview.)

Our gift this year from the Cast and Producers was a military watch by the makers of the Swiss Army Knife. Very impressive-looking, and quite appropos.

A Happy and Healthy New Year, everyone. Best, Harriet
