This was in the Ask Hollywood column. Apparently lots of people still don't know that Patrick didn't lose his leg. I think with that much interest, it would make a fascinating segment on E.T. or Extra to show
how they create the effect.
Q: Can you tell me if the actor who plays Bud on "JAG'' has really hurt his leg or if it's just an act? If he has hurt it in some way, please fill me in. Fans of "JAG'' are concerned about him!

A: I've answered this question before, but I've received so much mail from worried fans that I'll repeat my answer for anyone who missed it. Patrick Labyorteaux did not really lose his leg. He's OK, and the
story line with Bud losing his leg to a land mine is purely fictional.Special effects make it look like his limb has been amputated.
